The card will be available in June in 4GB and 8GB capacities, priced at $89.99 and $149.99 respectively. The new card was developed jointly by SanDisk and Sony for all of the professional photographers and advanced amateurs out there who use Sony digital SLR cameras. Sony's PRO-HG capable point-and-shoot cameras and digital camcorders are also compatible with the Extreme III Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo card.
SanDisk Extreme III cards are said to be capable of functioning in extreme temperatures, from -13 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit or -25 to 85 degrees Celsius, and carry a lifetime warranty. The cards are packaged with RescuePRO software for recovering deleted images.
